We Believe Operational Excellence Starts with Developing People

The Stellar Family of Companies is a privately held, vertically integrated multifamily real estate firm. Our mission is to invest in property, develop people, serve others, and make an impact that matters, and a career here is where most of that actually happens.

What It Feels Like to Work Here

We have gone by the name Family since 1989, and we try to earn it. The work is real: we find, develop, build, manage, and operate multifamily communities, and every role here, from the corporate office in Lubbock to the leasing desk at any of our communities, touches a place where someone actually lives. That gives the work a weight we do not take lightly, and more joy than most people expect to find in this industry. We work hard, we celebrate often, and we genuinely like being in the room together, whether that room is a monthly all-team gathering, a quarterly meeting, or a Thursday where the whole point is saying thank you.

Culture here is also written down. Every teammate receives The Stellar Way, the book our CEO wrote about our purpose, our values, and how we lead, coach, and work together, and nobody reads it alone: each teammate works through it with their leader. Few companies our size have a book. Fewer actually run on it.

Our culture stands on four values: Integrity, Attitude, Excellence, and Growth. Holding them together is the Stellar Ethos, three commitments we make to each other and to the people our work serves.

Cultivate

How We Grow Culture on Purpose

Our culture is the personality of this company, and we believe the quality of our people and the culture we build together is the most sustainable advantage we have, so we do not leave it to chance. We plan it with intention and we nurture it, and we call that effort Cultivate, because that is what the word means: to foster the growth of.

Cultivate shows up in three ways.

Rhythm

Monthly Town Halls. Quarterly State of the Company gatherings. The weekly rhythms of faith described below, and Connect Us events where we serve our communities side by side.

Development

The Stellar Way, read with your leader rather than alone. One-on-ones that actually happen. Shoulder-to-shoulder coaching, and ALC, our annual leadership conference.

Celebration

Employee of the Month at every level of the company, from the corporate office to every onsite team. Recognition cards, yearly awards for our top performers, and awards for our top-performing properties. And when something big lands, somebody rings the gong, the whole office stops, and con-gong-ulations get handed out on the spot.

And through all of it, there is almost always a meal, because food and fellowship are where a family actually happens.

Open Positions

We hire at the corporate office in Lubbock, Dallas and at communities across our markets: leasing, maintenance, property management, construction, accounting, and more. If the way we work sounds like the way you want to work, come see what is open.

The Stellar Family of Companies is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status.

Faith at Stellar

Our purpose as a company is to be about our Father’s business, and we do not hide that at work. Monday mornings start with worship. There are Bible studies every week, on-site and virtual, for anyone who wants to be there. Thursdays we practice gratitude out loud, which we call Thankful Thursday. Once a month we serve our communities together through Connect Us outreach events. Some of what comes out of all this is practical, and some of it runs deeper than that. We care about both.

And no, you do not have to share our faith to work here. We have never hired only believers, and The Stellar Way says why: the people drawn to Jesus came from every background and belief, and He never required them to think like He did before walking beside them. What we ask of every teammate is the same regardless of what they believe: excellent work, honest character, and room for others to live their faith openly.

Growing Here

We are building a scalable, forward-thinking platform focused on growth, accountability, and execution, and we develop the people who run it on purpose. That looks like structured training across leasing, maintenance, and management, and reimbursement for industry courses that move your career forward. It looks like ALC, our Annual Leadership Conference, where every onsite team in the company comes together with the corporate office for training, education, team building, and a serious amount of fun. And it looks like promotion that actually happens: our Director of Management Operations started here as an intern, and so did the newest member of our development leadership team.

“Our people are our number one asset, and helping each person develop personally and professionally is our primary focus."

The Stellar Way

Development happens in different seasons, and it might mean professional skills in one and personal growth in another. It also has structure behind it: real one-on-ones with your leader, shoulder-to-shoulder coaching, and feedback given in truth and love, all of it codified in the book every teammate carries.

Benefits

The standard things are here and done right: medical coverage, paid time off, and a 401k, all of it built around a commitment to our employees and their families.

And one thing we have never seen anywhere else: once a month, the whole company takes a Friday off. We call it Stellar Day, and if a national holiday already lands that month, the holiday counts. It exists because people who work with all their heart should get to live that way too. We don’t just talk about balance around here, we schedule it.
